Labor of Love

I made this cake for my brother and his incredibly lovely wife (you just couldn't ask for a sister-in-law this wonderful; though I am spoiled in that I have several sisters-in-law that are that wonderful!). I was very honored to make this cake for their reception to celebrate their getting "sealed" in the temple (a very happy ordinance in the LDS faith). My weekend spent with family and the happy couple's closest friends was a thrill - especially because all of our children ran around like crazy and thoroughly enjoyed one another's company.

This was the biggest and most difficult cake I had taken on so far. My super talented nieces helped me out in a big way (I couldn't have pulled it off without them) and my mother gave me her kitchen for the weekend. Of course, my husband was very supportive... and I'd like to thank the academy!

  1. WOW! Absolutely stunning! It's too pretty to even think about eating! Wait...what am I saying...I would totally eat it! What kind of cake was it? (So that when I dream of biting in to it I know how big my smile should be:)
